Boise, Idaho – The Boise Hawks closed out the 2015 season with a convincing 9-1 victory over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Sunday night at Memorial Stadium.
With the score tied at 1-1 in the fourth inning, Scott Burcham ripped a two-run double that scored Brian Mundell and Wesley Jones and gave the Hawks a 3-1 lead.
Kevin Padlo added a mammoth solo home run in the fifth inning before the Hawks erupted for five runs in the sixth inning, capped off by a Nate Causey two-run double that gave the Hawks the 9-1 lead.
A combination of Logan Cozart, Salvador Justo and Cristian Quintin shut down the Volcanoes batters over the final four and 1/3 innings as the Hawks took the final game of the series and the season by a score of 9-1.
Notes: Kevin Padlo hit his ninth home run of the season and raised his season RBI total to 46 after adding 2 RBI on the night… Jensen Park, Nate Causey and Scott Burcham had two RBI on the evening… Logan Cozart picked up his third win of the year… The Hawks stole four bases to bring their NWL leading total to 172.
