Boise, Idaho - In a game that took nearly four hours to complete due to weather conditions, the Everett AquaSox defeated the Boise Hawks by a score of 3-2.
The AquaSox grabbed two first inning runs off Hawks starter Javier Palacios and led by a score of 2-0 when the skies opened up and caused an hour and fifteen-minute rain delay.
When play resumed in the bottom of the second inning, AquaSox starting pitcher Dylan Moore was replaced by Taylor Byrd, who gave up a leadoff ground rule double to Brian Mundell. Wilkyns Jimenez would eventually score Mundell on an RBI fielder's choice to make the score 2-1.
The two teams traded RBI singles from Ryan Uhl and Steven Leonard in the third and fourth innings, pushing the score to 3-2.
The Hawks would threaten in the eighth inning with runners on second and third base with one out but could not push a run across as they fell to the AquaSox by a final score of 3-2.
Palacios took the loss for the Hawks, pitching two innings and giving up two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout.
Joseph Pistorese picked up his third win of the season for the AquaSox and Joey Strain was credited with the save.
The Hawks (8-17) and AquaSox (16-9) will meet tomorrow at 7:15 p.m. for the finale of this five game series.
Notes: Carlos Herrera swiped second and third base in the third inning to bring his season total to 10… Steven Leonard made his first start at Memorial Stadium and hit two singles with an RBI.
