The wait is over. The speculation has ended and the man everyone's been talking about since the start of spring training will finally get the opportunity to show the world what he can do. Kris Bryant makes his long awaited MLB debut today. Let the rejoicing begin.
Former Boise Hawks 3B, Kris Bryant, didn't make the Chicago Cubs opening day roster after having a spring training for the ages, in which he hit for an average of .425 with three doubles, nine home runs and 15 RBI's in 40 at bats.
Bryant's absence from the opening day roster, mixed with speculation for the reason behind his demotion to Triple-A, further built the anticipation for his debut today. On top of that, every debut Bryant has made thus far has been impressive. Bryant hit home runs in each of his Single-A, Double-A and Triple-A debuts. In fact, the only debut Bryant struggled in was with the Hawks, where he went 0 for 5 with five strikeouts. However, three days later in his first home game with the Hawks, Bryant hit a 3-run home run. (http://ow.ly/LLpWI)
Overall, Bryant spent 18 games with the Boise Hawks in 2013, hitting .354 with eight doubles, four home runs and 16 RBI's.
