The Boise Hawks fell to the Tri-City Dust Devils tonight by a score of 10-1 at Memorial Stadium.
The Dust Devils once again got on the board first, plating three early runs off Hawks starting pitcher, Collin Welmon. It was the first professional start for Welmon, who picked up the loss, giving up three runs on six hits and striking out five over two and two thirds innings pitched.
The Dust Devils added one more run in the top of the fourth before the Hawks responded with back-to-back doubles from Yonathan Daza and Hamlet Marte in the bottom of the inning. Daza is now hitting .313 after picking up his fourth extra base hit in the last three games.
The Hawks were unable to create any more offensive just one night after exploding for 13 runs. On the night, the Hawks went 1-11 with runners in scoring position.
The Dust Devils broke the game open in the sixth inning, scoring six runs while batting through the lineup. Before it was all said and done, the Dust Devils had amassed 10 runs on 18 hits.
Dust Devils starter, Travis Radke picked up the win, pitching five innings while giving up just one run on four hits with two strikeouts.
The two teams meet again tomorrow night for the rubber match of this five game series. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
