Spokane, Washington - One night after scoring 11 runs and tallying a season-high 21 hits, the Boise Hawks offense could not be found as they fell to the Spokane Indians by a score of 8-2.
Javier Palacios received the start for the Hawks and gave up three runs in the first two innings before settling down to retire 10 of the following 11 Indians batters.
On the evening, Palacios pitched five innings, giving up the three runs on five hits with six strikeouts, picking up his first loss of the season.
The Hawks put up one run in the second inning on an RBI fielder's choice from Scott Burcham. They added one more run in the fifth inning on an RBI single from David Dahl, making his first start as part of a rehab assignment with the Hawks.
The Indians added three runs in the seventh inning and two runs in the eighth aided by a couple of Hawks miscues, extending their lead to 8-2.
Indians starting pitcher, Luke Lanphere was credited with the win, pitching five innings and giving up two runs on six hits with one strikeout.
The Hawks (7-12) look to even the series with the Indians at two games apiece tomorrow night. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.
Notes: Kevin Padlo picked up his eighth stolen base of the season… He is now 8/8 on stolen base attempts this season… Hamlet Marte hit his league leading 11th double of the season… Yonathan Daza received the night off.
